Multimodal Identity Verification

Multimodal identity verification combines all available evidence into a single, structured verification assessment. Instead of relying on one signal, the workflow assembles the evidence available in each case and shows exactly what was assessed.

Evidence sources

Depending on the workflow, the assessment can combine: identity document verification, face verification, liveness, NFC where supported, document integrity, information consistency and issuer confirmation where available. Each source is assessed and reported separately before an overall assessment is formed.

An evidence-based summary

A multimodal result reads like evidence: Document Verification — Completed; Face Verification — Match; Liveness — Passed; NFC — Verified where supported; Information Consistency — Passed; Issuer Confirmation — Confirmed where available. The overall assessment — for example, HIGH CONFIDENCE / VERIFIED — follows from the evidence shown.

No invented confidence scores

A numerical confidence score is displayed only when generated by a properly integrated verification technology. Where no integrated technology reports a score, the assessment is qualitative and evidence-based, so users can understand exactly why a result was reached.

Result States

Results are expressed as clear, technically defensible verification assessments:

High Confidence / Verified Medium Confidence / Verified Inconclusive Additional Review Required

What is multimodal identity verification?

Multimodal identity verification combines multiple evidence sources — document, biometric, NFC, integrity and issuer data — into one structured verification assessment.

Any single verification signal can be attacked or can fail. Multimodal verification reduces that risk by requiring several independent evidence sources to align: the document must be structurally sound, the live capture must match the document portrait, liveness must pass, information must be consistent across sources, and where available the issuer must confirm the record. The final assessment displays the underlying evidence, so users understand why a result was reached rather than relying on an opaque score.

Privacy note: this capability follows our privacy-first biometric architecture — explicit consent, data minimization, least-privilege access and audit logging. Biometric information is never exposed on public verification pages.
